Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA)

HEMA is the sport and study of reconstructing the martial arts of mainly 14th-16th century Europe. I started doing HEMA with Hammaborg in Hamburg in April 2023 and have been Sword & Buckler fencing since then. In March 2024, I also started Viking Shield fencing which belongs more to the realm of combat archeology than HEMA due to the lack of primary sources. I also have limited experience with Messer, Long Sword, and Sickle.

If you see me, there's good chance I'll be in the mood to infodump talk about HEMA and I sometimes even bring some HEMA gear to events.

Photography

I do analogue photography and have been since March 2024. My main cameras are a Revue 400SE, a Canon T70 and a Agat 18K.

I also do some digital photography with a Game Boy Camera.

Music

I play bass, guitar, and whichever plucked string instruments I can get my hands on. I started taking lessons for classical guitar when I was 8 and since then have at points played electric guitar, electric and accoustic bass guitar, mandolin, mandola, bass ukulele, and guitarlele. Currently I mostly play prog rock and funk on bass.
